Fifth Graders Do Book Report Projects

The fifth grade students have been reading, writing, and creating book projects all year. Students have read a wide variety of different genres of literature in fifth grade. They have experienced historical fiction, fantasy, realistic fiction, biographies, science fiction, and others. As they read they do a number of comprehension activities to further their understanding of the book.
Following completion of the book the students have created a project to "show off" their book. These projects have been puppets, can characters, dioramas, cupboards, posters, pictures, etc. One thing we have learned is, "book reports are fun!"
